Description

Somewhat overgrown and not exactly visible from the highway, the Gull Lake Rest Area doesn't stand out. What is here are picnic tables, outhouses, and if you're willing to bushwhack, a disused picnic shelter in the middle of a field of weeds.

This picnic area is located close to the location of the Swift Current / Maple Creek Trail and there is a historical plaque commemorating the trail. Looking to the south from here you can see wind turbines and there is also an interpretive sign on site explaining how wind is used for power generation.
