At 100 acres in size, St. Vital Park is the 3rd largest park in Winnipeg. Curving alongside a bend in the Red River, the park is largely forested and has good opportunities for bird viewing and the occasional deer.
The park has two playgrounds, a sports field, boat launch, beach volleyball courts, and gardens onsite. In the winter the park features cross country skiing and skating.
For picnic facilities there are several picnic shelters which can be booked and numerous outdoor picnic tables. There are also washrooms and fire pits available on site.
Between the gardens, duck pond, and pavilion, this is a beautiful spot within Winnipeg to enjoy a picnic. There are lots of sheltered picnic spots great for either finding shade or staying out of the rain.
