Located just within British Columbia, the Field Information Center lies close to the Alberta border, just after Kicking Horse Pass. At the information center, you'll find picnic tables, benches, washrooms, a playground, and a sandy beach on a cold pond, along with all the usual tourist information and guides.
Some picnic tables are located on the edge of the Kicking Horse River, providing an additional scenic view, but it's hard not to have good views when you are in the thick of the Rocky Mountains.
Conveniently located two hours west of Calgary, can be a bit busy on the weekends but has lots of picnic tables.
