Home to a large playground, athletic fields, and a indoor door, Shouldice Park had a lot to offer for fun and entertainment.
Named after James Shouldice who donated the land to the city of Calgary upon his death in 1925, the park was only built in the 1960s as Calgary grew outwards.
Here you can find all manner of sports fields, such as baseball diamonds, soccer / football fields, tennis courts, and a basketball court. The Shouldice Aquatic Center features an indoor pool for swimming year round.
For picnics there is a large shaded picnic area which is along the scenic Bow River. Many of the picnic tables have wood grills nearby for cooking, and there is also washrooms and a water fountain at the park.
